BIG WALT

Walter Cotton Jr., better known by his artist name BIG Walt, was born and raised on May 13, 1996, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, also known as T-Town. A talented and versatile artist, BIG Walt isn’t afraid to express himself within the rap culture while also breaking barriers with his country lifestyle. The name "BIG Walt" was originally his father’s, as he was a Jr., often referred to as Lil Walt. After his father’s passing, he embraced the role of "the man of the house," a title his father gave to him before he passed. BIG Walt continues to live by the saying, “It’s not what’s on you, it’s what’s in you,” which reflects his artistic essence.

Coming from a family of artists, including his uncle (A-N-T), aunt (Stacks), and younger brother (Neh KB), music runs deep in his blood. His passion for music started at age 5 when he became the lead singer in his elementary school choir. Known for both his vocal talent and musical ear, BIG Walt draws inspiration from rap artists like Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, and Lil Baby, as well as R&B and soul legends such as Johnnie Taylor, Theodis Easley, and King George. His desire to fuse rap and R&B continues to fuel his growth in the music industry.
